Thanksgiving Day Fun
WARNING...OVERLOAD OF PICS...journaling purposes. :) Thanksgiving was a lot of fun this year. We went to Boise to visit family. We got in Wed. night around 11:30pm. On Thanksgiving Day we made the feast all morning with my Mom and ate at 4pm. Growing up we would have my Dad's side over as well but for the past couple of years, since my immediate family is so big, we would only do Thanksgiving with my immediate family. This year ALL of us were there. It was fun to see cousins, aunts, uncles, and my grandma as well as immediate family. There were 23 adults and 15 kids there. All of the kids were under the age of 6. It was a little crazy, but enjoyable because we were all happy to be there. The food was amazing. My sister and Mom marinated the turkey in a brine for 3 days. The turkey was so moist and yummy. We had sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy, red cabbage, orange rolls, corn casserole, green bean casserole, home made cranberry sauce, relish tray, green salad, broccoli salad, pretzel jello salad, stuffing, turkey, artichoke dip, and I think that is it. For dessert we had 4 pumpkin pies, carmel corn, Kim's popcorn, German chocolate cake, and toffee. Mom was cooking so many things at once that she forgot to put sugar in 2 of the pumpkin pies. We discovered this during dessert time...bummer. We visited, watched football, and watched the kids be goofy. It was a very memorable Thanksgiving. I was just happy to be there because we didn't think we could come. Tom got work off last minute so that we were able to go. Thanksgiving to me is being with family and those you love. Ya, the food is nice too.

Hailee and the puppy. Hailee was very scared of dogs before Snickers. Now she loves him.
Dad was singing "Once there was a snowman" with the girls.
Dad with the girls. Poor Dad had stickers everywhere.

Aunt Cammie, Dad's sister. She took more than enough pictures of me so...fair is fair.

Brooklyn was such a goofball. I was trying to take a picture of Brooke and Justin and Brooklyn jetted in front of the picture and posed for me.

Dad and his present

Ryan and Austin made presents for everyone. They wrapped drawings in wrapping paper and gave everyone a present. There were over 30 people there. Heather said they made presents for about 3 hours that day while she cooked.

Tom looking through the ads. Tom is our shopper. He is the only one willing to wake up in the middle of the night to get good deals for Christmas. I value my sleep too much.

In this video to the left Brooklyn is playing hide-and-seek. I like how she is counting and looking for kids.

So fun! My first pumpkin pie went in to the crust right from the can. I did not know you had to add sugar. I thought it was ready to go. Teach me to read the directions! That looked like so much fun. How nice that you got to go home!
Happy Thanksgiving...It looks like you guys had a fun holiday. I love Thanksgiving and the time spent with family, especially extended family that you don't see often enough! :)
