Camping, Manti Pageant, and Liberty Park!

We had another fun weekend! It started off at Liberty Park to feed the ducks that ended up being geese and seagulls. We had a reception to go to and needed to kill about 2 hours. It ended up being a lot of fun. The geese were crazy. They hissed, but were friendly when it came to feeding them. We had a good 30 geese surrounding us. Brooklyn LOVED it and Kenzie was terrified. After the park we went to a wedding reception of Sharon Bodily. The Bodily's are a family that I grew up with. They are like a second family to me and it was great to see them. Another family, the Gabrielsen's, were there too. They are another family that our family grew up doing stuff with. It was great to see them, but it made me miss my family in Boise. Luckily, we are going to Alaska in a couple of weeks to be with family! On Saturday, we drove to Ephraim and camped at Maple Campground with Lou and Ben. I guess this campground is world renowned for its rock climbing. There were people from all over the world there. Crazy. There were some amazing rock climbers as well. We went on little hikes and later that night met up with Dean and Lauriza (Tom's best friend and wife) and they showed us their homestead, their store, and had some ice cream. After that we went to the Manti Pageant. Very cool. Brooklyn was so cute there. When the soldiers came she said, "oh no" and when Jesus showed up she clapped and said, "Jesus". It was very sweet. Kenzie didn't handle it so well. She is an early girl and wanted to go to bed. It was a late night and a rough night of camping in the tent. By morning, we had all 4 of us on a queen size mattress. A very fun weekend and memorable. Picnic at the park
When the geese went away Brooklyn was so sad. She sobbed and sobbed.

Brooklyn feeding the geese. They actually ate right out of her hands. Yes, all 10 fingers and toes are still intact. :)
She kept yelling at the geese.

The geese saw Brooklyn feeding other geese so they started coming. It was so bizarre to see.

They kept trying to hold each others hands. They DO love each other. :)

Brooklyn, our little performer, climbed up a little slope and started singing "Wheels on the bus" and "Popcorn popping". It was SSOOOOOO cute.

5 minutes into the camping trip...

Lou and Brooklyn on one of the smaller slopes. Brooklyn climbed up there to hang out with Lou.

Watching the rock climbers.

Our little rock climber

This was quite odd. Maybe it's normal though...I don't know. Mary, maybe you can shed some light on this. It looks like some beds that people made. There was a lot of grass gathered together and some rocks (looked like pillows). I'm all about comfort...and this didn't look very comfortable. To each his own.

Swimming, Dinner, and Biking in 1 night!

This week has been packed with a lot. I will get around to posting what we've been up to, but for now, I'll post what we did last night. Lou and Ben "Lu and Be" came over and we played! They went swimming with the girls, we had dinner then went for a bike ride. It was a very fun-filled night. It is great to have family so close.

We ran over to the neighbors to get directions to the trailhead and Brooklyn made her self at home on their porch. Our neighbors are from the south and were joking that Brooklyn fit in perfectly by talking to people walking by.
Lou, Ben, the girls, and I went on a bike ride in Saratoga. It was a BEAUTIFUL ride. It was a trail that took you along the river. Who knew we had such an amazing place like 10 min. from our house.

I think I'm hooked

Ok, so I decided I like running. The 1st 3 weeks of my training have been a beast. I was really wondering what the heck I got myself into by signing up for this marathon. Well, this morning I didn't have my jogger with the girls in it, it was about 65 degrees, my tunes were rockin', and nothing was sore. I decided I liked running. I've heard that after 3 weeks your body gets used to running and after that point you can run forever. I'm hoping that is the case. If not, I'm committed...there's no turning back!

Little helpers

We were emptying the trash for garbage day and Brooklyn wanted to help. She was very determined to carry the bag herself so we helped her.
Brooklyn was done eating and I wasn't fast enough to get her out.

Pretty ingenious if you ask me.

Hanging out under the table wth their animals and little people. Funny kids.

Brooklyn is very good at changing her cd, switching songs and pausing the cd player.

This is one of the places Brooklyn keeps her secret stash of stuff. This time she hid a finger puppet and of course, a binky. When she came out she gave me a face like she'd been caught. I laughed and so she laughed then gave me the picture above this one.

Dance party! The next picture and this one are of Brooklyn dancing. The girls LOVE to dance. We have dance parties everyday to silly songs. At nursery last Sunday the teacher was amazed that Brooklyn knew a lot of the actions to the songs. I told her we practice. Some of the songs she knows actions to are: Wheels on the bus, popcorn popping, If you're happy and you know it, hinges, 5 little monkeys, and the bee song. She also knows a lot of her body parts (even bugars, and bum and elbow).
Brooklyn dancing.

Kenzie LOVES this whistle. She's pretty good at blowing in it and making it loud. I see a future referree...like her momma. :)

Fun with the Stufflebeams

Today we went to dinner over at the Stufflebeams. We had steaks, pork, veggies, potato casserole, pretzel salad and yummy bread. Very delicious meal! After dinner, we went outside and played on the grass, blew bubbles, played golf, and went for rides on the 4 wheeler. It was a lot of fun. Thanks Stufflebeams for inviting us over! We missed you Brittney!
Nathan took the girls for a ride around the yard. As you can tell on their faces, they loved it.

Nathan and Debbie and the big beasty 4 wheeler

We played "golf". It is a game the Stufflebeams created. There are stands and golf balls attached with string. You throw the golfball strings and try and catch them on the the stands. You get points for hitting the different levels. It is a lot of fun and very technical. I would love for Tom to make this game so that we can play it.

She loved sitting between the rungs of the ladder.
Brooklyn was very intrigued by the area behind the trees along the fence. She walked back and forth many times that night touching the fence as she went. Funny kid.

Our little performer. She danced, sang, and made goofy faces while standing on the boards. She is so funny to watch. I wish pictures could show what a funny kid she is like.
