ANOTHER funny story...
Ok, another funny story. On Friday, Tom came home and decided that we needed to go to RC Willey. The weather was iffy for the day and we didn't know if we would get caught in a storm so we decided to leave right away. Well, I have to be honest. It was a rough day in the "getting ready for the day" department. I think I still had my robe on. So, I stuck my hair in a bun and threw on some clothes and off we went. When we got there Tom had to use the bathroom so I told him I was going to start looking. I had lil' Brooklyn with me and I guess you could say I look pregnant. So, we are looking and a lady and her husband and a couple kids look at me up and down. (I'm used to this because people can't figure out how I LOOK prego, but have a little one.) After I pass them the lady whispers to her husband, "I didn't know poligamists could wear jeans." I told Tom this and he got fired up. It's just not worth it to say anything. During this pregnancy I've really learned...judge not lest ye be judged. We don't know what people are going through and we shouldn't judge. It would be so refreshing to have someone just smile at me and not judge me.

Hall's Happenings
Lil' Brooklyn had her 6 month dr. appointment yesterday. She is 16 lbs., 25 inches long, and her head is 17 inches wide. Her weight and head are in the 50%ile and her heigth is still in the 25%ile. The Dr. said her head is borderline 50-75%ile. I knew she was smart! :) Her results came in from her ultrasound and VCUG. She has a grade 2 relux into her kidneys. She has to be on bactrum every night for 9 months! Luckily, she really likes the flavor and it hasn't been a problem giving it to her so far. She also got 4 shots yesterday. She is one tough kid. As you can see in the pics, she is sitting up on her own and as of yesterday, can roll over onto both sides. She'll be rolling to get places here soon enough. She has been going to bed at 7:30! Yeah! and sleeping in till 7:30-8:00am. That is so nice. Everytime we check on her she is in a different position. What's cute is she loves to sleep on her side. I introduced pots and pans to her yesterday and they are a hit. She loves to bang a spoon against them. She is also eating all sorts of veggies and fruits. I don't know why, but she doesn't seem to care for fruit. I think it may be the texture of the bananas and pears. She loves to beg for "human food". 1 week and she will legally be ours!!!
Brooklyn is sitting up on her own now. She is getting to be so independent.

Brooklyn LOVES to drink the rest of our water. She begs for a it.
Valentine cupcakes for Tom's work. All the wives make treats for their husbands. They do not go unfed.
Daddy reading her favorite book before she goes to bed. "Good Night Sweet Butterflies"
Brooklyn in her Valentine's Day outfit. She loves sitting in her boppy.

Thoughts for the day...
"When of a gossiping circle it was asked, What are they doing? The answer was, Swapping lies". ~Richard Sheridan
gos·sip (gŏs'əp) n.
Rumor or talk of a personal, sensational, or intimate nature.
A person who habitually spreads intimate or private rumors or facts.
Trivial, chatty talk or writing
Synonmys: (same) gossip, blab, tattle. These verbs mean to engage in or communicate idle, indiscreet talk: gossiping about the neighbors; can't keep a secret—he always blabs; is disliked for tattling on mischief-makers.
Antonyms: (opposites) truth, factual, uplifting
I've been thinking a lot on this topic and felt like I needed to share it. I was up a long time last night just thinking about it. I am not perfect, but one thing I have realized is that gossiping or making comments about people that would hurt them is wrong and the spirit cannot dwell there. Doing it about family is, in my opinion, worse because, like it or not, we are eternal. So, let's say my sister did something and Tom tells someone else things that would hurt her behind her back. Well, he is not bringing an eternal family closer together. We are all connected. My sister's family is his family too because they are sealed to her husband and she is sealed to him, I am sealed to her and Tom is sealed to me and Tom's family is sealed to him. We should never speak ill of our family. We need to give each other the benefit of the doubt. I assume we don't intentionally hurt each other. We all have good qualities...why not brag about them and not bring to attention the faults we have. No one is perfect. Until you are perfect, just know that when you point the finger at someone else there are 4 others pointing back at you. (Disclaimer: Tom is not in the doghouse with anyone...it was just used as an example.) Ok, I'm done preaching. It's just been on my mind. And No, I haven't been offended by anyone. I am just following the spirit by posting this.

Recipes
As requested...
Teriyaki Salmon
3/4 tsp. dill weed
1/2 tsp. lemon pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. oil
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. chopped green onions (I use dried onions)
1 filet of salmon
425 degrees for 20-25 min.
Combine all ingredients into a 9x13 pan. Put the salmon on top of the sauce then pour some over the top to coat all of the salmon. Make sure the salmon is skin up for easy removal when it is done cooking. I like to double the recipe when I am using more than 1 filet (1 whole side filet) of salmon. The sauce is great over rice.
Seasoned Rice (AKA Brown Rice)
1 c. white rice (you can use brown rice)
1 beef bouillon cube
1 can double strength beef broth (Campbell's sells this)
1 can water
1/2-1 cube of butter or margarine
1 can mushrooms, undrainded (optional)
1/4 tsp. marjoram
1 c. chopped onion (I use dried onions)
Put all the ingredients in a dish with a lid. You don't even need to stir them together. Bake 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Remove the lid and stir. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes more or until rice has absorbed water. Easy recipe and very yummy.
