Camping, Manti Pageant, and Liberty Park!

We had another fun weekend! It started off at Liberty Park to feed the ducks that ended up being geese and seagulls. We had a reception to go to and needed to kill about 2 hours. It ended up being a lot of fun. The geese were crazy. They hissed, but were friendly when it came to feeding them. We had a good 30 geese surrounding us. Brooklyn LOVED it and Kenzie was terrified. After the park we went to a wedding reception of Sharon Bodily. The Bodily's are a family that I grew up with. They are like a second family to me and it was great to see them. Another family, the Gabrielsen's, were there too. They are another family that our family grew up doing stuff with. It was great to see them, but it made me miss my family in Boise. Luckily, we are going to Alaska in a couple of weeks to be with family! On Saturday, we drove to Ephraim and camped at Maple Campground with Lou and Ben. I guess this campground is world renowned for its rock climbing. There were people from all over the world there. Crazy. There were some amazing rock climbers as well. We went on little hikes and later that night met up with Dean and Lauriza (Tom's best friend and wife) and they showed us their homestead, their store, and had some ice cream. After that we went to the Manti Pageant. Very cool. Brooklyn was so cute there. When the soldiers came she said, "oh no" and when Jesus showed up she clapped and said, "Jesus". It was very sweet. Kenzie didn't handle it so well. She is an early girl and wanted to go to bed. It was a late night and a rough night of camping in the tent. By morning, we had all 4 of us on a queen size mattress. A very fun weekend and memorable. Picnic at the park
When the geese went away Brooklyn was so sad. She sobbed and sobbed.

Brooklyn feeding the geese. They actually ate right out of her hands. Yes, all 10 fingers and toes are still intact. :)
She kept yelling at the geese.

The geese saw Brooklyn feeding other geese so they started coming. It was so bizarre to see.

They kept trying to hold each others hands. They DO love each other. :)

Brooklyn, our little performer, climbed up a little slope and started singing "Wheels on the bus" and "Popcorn popping". It was SSOOOOOO cute.

5 minutes into the camping trip...

Lou and Brooklyn on one of the smaller slopes. Brooklyn climbed up there to hang out with Lou.

Watching the rock climbers.

Our little rock climber

This was quite odd. Maybe it's normal though...I don't know. Mary, maybe you can shed some light on this. It looks like some beds that people made. There was a lot of grass gathered together and some rocks (looked like pillows). I'm all about comfort...and this didn't look very comfortable. To each his own.

Looks like fun! We love Maple Canyon! We went there on our honeymoon, and yes, to rock climb. You are so brave to take your girls camping. You'll have to give me some pointers! Cute family!

Michelle, you are so good at keeping up with your blog. You are such a great mom too, so involved. I wanted to tell you how great you look and ask you about that diet. Also, we are coming to Utah the middle of July and staying till the first of Aug. We should meet up if you can fit us in your busy schedule! :) Miss you! Tell Tom hi and squeeze the babies. Love, Sarah

It looks like a fun and memorable weekend indeed. I can't believe all the geese! Even at the parks in Boise, there aren't that many! :)
